Promising UK producer Pariah will follow his recent ‘Detroit Falls’ single for R&S with a double-vinyl EP for the label, titled Safehouses.
‘Detroit Falls’ was almost brash, Dilla-esque hip-hop led by a prominent vocal sample, butSafehouses finds Pariah exploring more ethereal, FaltyDL-style territory on opener ‘The Slump’, while nodding to Untold with the tracks bass hits and Ramadanman with its percussion. There are also touches of classic techno, electro and creeping minimal.
